Burrata Joy and Gustavo Lapasta officially opened in Katong in January 2022.

We went for a casual look, making the space a good location to fully relax and spend some time with family / friends.

Our menu focuses on Salad bowls with Burrata and many different Pastas, where you can choose which Pasta format to match with your pasta sauce, as well as whether you’d like to add a burrata on top. We also introduced our Pizzas in March 2023, where we gave the possibility for various add ons, including Burrata.

We chose Katong as we liked the area and felt it was a very family friendly location, a perfect representation of the type of crowd we want to welcome. The neighbourhood restaurant that everybody knows and loves, with friendly service staff and good, saucy portions.

Burrata Joy initially started from Garibaldi’s kitchen, featuring salad bowls with Plain Burrata, a few sides and starters. The name was to express the ‘Joy’ we feel when eating all together with our families and friends. Burrata, also being a common sharing starter made this even more relatable.

Gustavo Lapasta was the second brand we created when we first opened in a Deliveroo cloud kitchen. “Gustavo” in Italian means “I used to taste”, this was to relate to the pastas “we used to taste” at home in Italy with our families. Due to the pandemic and being far from home, we couldn’t eat those and thus, we recreated the feeling here in Singapore. (Mar 2024)
