Relish in Freshly Made Sushi in Singapore

We put together three recommendations around the city for great sushi for the office workers, city visitors and anyone else yearning for something fresh in Singapore.

City Hall: Situated at Marina Mandarin Hotel, Sushi Jiro offers an exquisite menu of Japanese culinary mastery displayed in every plate of freshly made sushi. The restaurant, first founded by Nakano Jiro-San 20 years ago in the eastern part of Singapore, has never failed to serve diners with authentic Japanese flavours daily. Using hand picked produce that is air-flown up to four times a week from Japan, it is no wonder that one can truly taste the real Japanese in each bite. Pick from their three assorted sushi packages or buy them ala carte if you are dining alone!

Telok Ayer: Those patronising the foodie alleys of Telok Ayer can stop by Marukyu for a range of Nigiri and Maki sushi. Known for their Omakase variety, we reckon diners should add a few plates of sushi to the table of a rich and delectable Japanese treat. This is indeed a feast for the eyes and the tummy, so bring your colleagues to Marukyu for a delicious lunch or catch up with your friends at this charming shophouse.

Robertson Quay: A stone’s throw away from the Alkaff Bridge, Yumeya Japanese Restaurant on the northern bank of the Singapore River lets diners savour a wide selection of Japanese food, such as grilled meat, fresh sashimi and undoubtedly, the beautifully rolled sushi. Enjoy fresh tempura, crab and salmon rolled up in the traditional vineyard rice, garnished with a range of ingredients, including avocado, mango, tuna and flying fish roe. Have the sushi alongside their donburi bowls and grilled platters, or just enjoy a fantastic sushi spread of all assortments!
