The Green MRT line, or East-West line, was the second MRT line (following the North-South line) to open for operation in Singapore in December 1987. It starts from Tuas Link in the West of Singapore and extends to Changi Airport and Pasir Ris in the East of Singapore. Cumulatively, the East-West line is 5.72 kilometres long with 35 stations. It is the longest train line in Singapore today. This MRT line is one of the most densely-populated MRT lines in Singapore. It gets very crowded on weekends and on weekdays during the peak hours.
