Opened on 28 May 2009 by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the Circle Line is the fourth Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in operation since the North-South Line was opened. It has 30 MRT stations under its name, with 11 of them being interchange stations connecting to other rail lines, such as the East West Line. It will also connect to the upcoming Thomson East Coast Line via Caldecott station when it opens in the near future.
With the recent revamp of the MRT map, the Circle Line has also gained lots of attention from many Singaporeans as it is now being designed in a perfect circle in the system map unlike before.
